FUD FACTOR

There is a concept that, as I remember, was the buzzword back when the war against Microsoft was beginning. Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt seemed to be part of the marketing genius of Bill Gates. After all, it may be a nice program, but will it work beyond the next Windows upgrade? That was the question anyone who considered buying software, that wasn't a Microsoft title, had. Because of that fear, uncertainty, and doubt, most chose to stay with a MS product.

So, you ask, what's this all got to do with today? Today, politics is full of F.U.D., in fact, the dems have perfected it. It's not new though, they've been developing it since the '94 election cycle. Everything that republicans would propose, Contract 'on' America, medi-scare, starving senior citizens, you name it. Spreading the FUD Factor is the democrat party leaders' platform. We have all been witness to the mantra, bash the republican proposal for how it will harm you, your neighbor, and/or your neighborhood, and/or the earth. Take notice, they are continually reacting to proposals of republicans. You never hear their solution in the same interview or sentence as the FUD attack. That's because they don't have one. Seems the party for progress is in the White House.

Let me be clear that when I refer to the 'dems' here, and elsewhere for that matter, I'm speaking of the leaders of the party, Daschle, Gebhardt, Kennedy, Byrd, Hollings, the liberal end of the democrat party. The shift in the core of the democrat party has begun to distance itself from their 'leaders' in as much as they too are seeing the light here. They can see the FUD factor for what it is now, when they hear the Bush bashing going on about the war, they can see these people for the pure political hacks that they are, caring not one iota for our troops, bipartisanship, campaign finance reform, the economy, crime, terrorism or welfare reform. You name it. They are only trying to pull public opinion down enough to try to save seats in congress. If they cared about their constituents, us Americans, they would be supporting and working with the President to get this land in shape.

This administration began with about 50% support in the country. Today, the number has grown to around 80%. This illustrates my point that the so-called leaders of the democrat party seem to have lost their grip on the party and are leading no-one. They're just out there, whining, crying, and scaring, playing the FUD Factor, the only play they know.
